China's trade surplus fell by 42.5 percent in the first six months this year from a year earlier to $55.3 billion, the General Administration of Customs (GAC) said Saturday.

In the first half of 2010, exports rose 35.2 percent to $705.09 billion while imports were up 52.7 percent to $649.79 billion, the GAC said in a statement posted on its official website.

海關(guān)總署10日公布今年上半年中國外貿(mào)進(jìn)出口情況。據(jù)海關(guān)統(tǒng)計(jì)，1至6月中國進(jìn)出口總值13548.8億美元，比去年同期（下同）增長43.1%。其中出口7050.9億美元，增長35.2%；進(jìn)口6497.9億美元，增長52.7%；貿(mào)易順差為553億美元，下降42.5%。
